State Reps. Ben Smaltz (R-Auburn) and Denny Zent (R-Angola) areea speaking up in response to concerns about the Michindoh Aquifer’s water supply.
“The Michindoh Aquifer provides an important resource for residents in both DeKalb and Steuben counties,” Smaltz said. “The aquifer needs to be protected. I’m pursuing all avenues to have our concerns heard by the proper local and state agencies, and I urge all residents to do the same. I understand there are many questions, and I hope my friends and neighbors in the district will contact me with their thoughts and concerns.”
“The Michindoh Aquifer’s unique location on the border of Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, makes it an invaluable natural resource to us and our neighbors,” Zent said. “We need to preserve this critical water supply for all citizens. The governor and lieutenant governor have visited the area several times in the past year and understand the importance of this issue. I hope we can continue to come together to discuss options and create a plan of action.”
Smaltz reached out to the governor, Indiana’s Congressional delegation and other elected officials to help with this effort.
