(BRONSON) - A Bronson resident, Brett Kubasiak, is facing drug charges after his arrest. The arrest occurred after Branch County Sheriff's deputies went to a residence at 123 Franklin Street to serve a warrant on another individual, Jason Narlock. During the warrant check, officers looked through an open window and spotted a meth pipe lying on a table. Kubasiak, who is 63, initially claimed he didn't know if Narlock was inside the home. After obtaining a search warrant, deputies found a locked safe in Kubasiak's bedroom. Inside the safe, they discovered about 14 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and other personal items belonging to Kubasiak.
Narlock told investigators that Kubasiak was his regular drug dealer and that he had witnessed Kubasiak regularly selling meth to other individuals. SWET agents confirmed that the amount of methamphetamine found was consistent with drug distribution. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine, leading to Kubasiak's arrest.
During his arraignment, Kubasiak pleaded not guilty to charges of Delivery and/or Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Drug House. Judge Brent Weigle set his bond at $40,000 and ordered random drug testing. Kubasiak's Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for October 23.
