NCAA Division III Women's Softball World Series at Tyler, Texas---

Trine's first National Championship appearance came to an end with their second loss in the double elimination tournament. The Tigers scored early and often as they scored 10 runs in the first three innings. Amy Newell (Three Rivers, Mich./Three Rivers) homered in her first at-bat of the season to drive in two for Trine, while Rachel Harris added a homer for the Thunder. The loss ends Trine's season with a school-record 43 wins and six losses. The Thunder won their first-ever Regional Championship and Super-Regional Championship, producing an All-American, two Academic All-Americans, six All-Region performers and eight All-MIAA selections on their way to the best season in school-history.


NCAA Division III Track and Field Finals---

(DELAWARE, OHIO) -- Trine's Tyler Bourdo advanced to the championship race of the 400-Meter Dash with his performance in the preliminaries at the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Bourdo ran a time of 48.09 seconds to finish eighth in the preliminaries. That put him in the final spot among championship qualifiers. The performance gives the junior All-American honors in the event. Bourdo has now earned All-American honors in the 400-Meter Dash in both the indoor and outdoor seasons this year. Performers representing the top 20 qualifying times in the nation competed in today's preliminary heats.

Trine's Trisha King concluded her season Friday night at the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. King ran a time of 2:12.92 in the preliminaries of the 800-Meter Run, but fell short of qualifying for the Championship race.
