Fremont And Prairie Heights Hire Boys Basketball Coaches

(UNDATED) - The hiring of Boys Varsity High School basketball coaches were approved Monday night by the Fremont and Prairie Heights School Boards.
The Fremont School Board approved the hiring of Bruce Brown. He will take over for Ted Bookwalter who resigned after he compiled a record of 53-55 in five years.
Brown's last coaching position was as the girls' varsity coach at St. Mary's Memorial High School in St. Mary's, Ohio. He compiled a 114-45 record there and won three awards for conference coach of the year. He was also Northwest Ohio AP District Coach of the Year in 2002. Prior to that he was an assistant boys' coach at Wauseon, Ohio from 1989 to 1996.
He also was the head boys' coach at Woodmore High School in Woodville, Ohio where he was named as the Northwest Ohio Boys' AP Coach of the Year in 1989.
He also served as the boys' varsity coach at Columbus Grove High School and Adrian Madison High School in Adrian, Michigan.
Meanwhile, the hiring of former Angola coach Greg Holmes to take over as the Prairie Heights boys basketball coach was approved by the Prairie Heights school board. Holmes will take over for Brett Eltzroth whose resignation was accepted last month. Eltzroth coached for seven seasons and compiled a 66-91 record which included a sectional title in 2011.
