Indiana Sports Broadcasting Legend Jeff Jeffers Dies at 64

(South Bend, IN) - Area sports fans are mourning the loss of WNDU TV Channel 16 sportscaster Jeff Jeffers, who died over the weekend following an extended illness.

Jeffers covered sports at the South Bend station for more than 40 years.

Jeffers, who earned the nickname the “Dean of Local Sports,” was particularly known for his love of football, the University of Notre Dame and Notre Dame sports.

He was 64. The well-respected and popular local sports broadcaster Jeff Jeffers died Sunday morning.
