Carmel shot a team score of two-under par on their home course during the first day of the state finals. That was good for a six stroke lead over Center Grove. There were two lengthy rain delays. Luke Morrison of Northridge shot a first round score of 80. That was eleven strokes behind first round leader Noah Shanteau of Westfield. They'll try to finish up today.
