Steuben County Farmers' Share Breakfast 9/3/24
Tuesday, September 3, 2024
Neasa Kalme, Indiana Farm Bureau - Steuben County Secretary/Treasurer, is with WLKI's Andy St. John to preview the Steuben County Farm Bureau's Farmers' Share Breakfast. It will take place Saturday, September 7, 7:30 am - 10 am, at The Steuben Community Center, Angola.
We will be serving pancakes, sausage patties, eggs and milk.
There is no cost for the breakfast. It is a freewill donation.
The purpose of this breakfast is to raise awareness for the share farmers receive compared to the prices we pay for their products at the grocery store.
The retail price of this meal would be $6.00. That means the farmer who produced these products would receive about $0.75 - The Farmers' Share. The rest of the cost at the grocery store is added for shipping, handling, packaging, marketing and transportation.
The Steuben County Farmers Market and Farm Bureau partner to bring the community awareness to anyone that comes and eats breakfast that morning.
