Hit And Run Accident Involving Children Being Investigated

SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP – A hit and run incident in Branch County's Sherwood Township injured three children.

Michigan State Police say at 3:45 PM Monday, a silver Chevy Equinox was driving south on Ralston Road when it went off the road and struck three siblings that were riding their bikes. A 14 year old boy was flown to a Kalamazoo Hospital. A 7 year old boy was taken by Life Care Ambulance to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. Troopers found their 14 year old sister had been standing with them when they were struck.She was taken by her family for additional examination.

Witnesses told troopers the Equinox should have extensive damage to the right front and right side of the vehicle. That damage will include a missing passenger side headlight and mirror, and the front bumper cover was dragging on the roadway. The vehicle was last seen leaving the area heading west on Blossom Road.
