City Of Sturgis Flushing Hydrants This Week

STURGIS – The City of Sturgis will be flushing fire hydrants this week.

The Department of Public Services will start flushing hydrants on Monday, April 26 and will continue until April 30. According to information released by the City, crews will flush hydrants on Monday on Fawn River Road and all areas south of the road. On Tuesday, hydrants south of East Chicago Road and East of South Nottawa Street will be flushed.

Then on Wednesday, the hydrants south of West Chicago Road and west of South Nottawa Street will be the next ones flushed. Thursday, the crews will flush hydrants in the area south of East Chicago Road and east of North Nottawa Street. On Friday, hydrants located north of West Chicago Road and west of North Nottawa Street to North Centreville Road will be flushed. This is a tentative schedule and is subject to weather conditions.

If you experience any water discoloration, City officials say to let the water flow for several minutes until it becomes clear. If the discoloration continues, or if you have any questions, you can call the Department of Public Services at 269-651-2879.
