Noble County Crash Closes a Portion of State Road 3 Tuesday

KENDALLVILLE — A Tuesday morning crash reportedly closed down a portion of State Road 3 in Noble County.

Officials say at least three people were injured when a white passenger car was struck by a dump truck on 3 at the Waits Road intersection. The accident happened shortly after 8:30 a.m.

Reports indicate the white passenger car was eastbound on Waits Road when it came I contact with the northbound dump truck. After impact, both vehicles reportedly ended up down an embankment on the east side of 3, north of Waits Road.

The two small children in the white passenger car were airlifted from the scene by Parkview Samaritan Hospital. The condition of the driver is not know at this time.

The truck driver did not appear to be injured.

Responding to the incident were multiple agencies, including the Kendallville Fire Department , Kendallville Police Department, Noble County Sheriff’s Department, and the Indiana State police. An Avilla Motor Works employee was crucial in acting selflessly m to free the two small children from the passenger vehicle.
