Orland's Joyce Library Will Remain Open During Restoration
By: Molly McCrea - Friday, April 30, 2021

ORLAND, IN - Joyce Public Library has retained Atlas Building Services to “tuck-point” and repair the exterior of the historic library building in Orland.

Library board members shared that the building is structurally sound and they believe, with the planned repair, that it would be a sound building for many years. The library will remain open during construction.

The cost of the restoration project will be over $45,000. Millgrove Township has provided $35,000 towards the cost. Efforts are underway to raise the remaining funds required for this historic renovation.

Additional funds may be required for updating the mural on the side of the building, originally painted by Maurice Marks in 1984.
