DEKALB COUNTY - Shane and Charlotte Youngkin suffered injuries when Nathaniel Runkle failed to yield the right of way to their vehicle and pulled into their path.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, Runkle was traveling West on County Road 68 at the intersection of State Road 3. Youngkin was traveling South on 3 at the intersection of 68. This is when Runkle failed to yield the right of way to Youngkin and pulled into his path.

The vehicles struck at a right angle causing heavy damage to both vehicles which resulted in a total loss for both vehicles. The driver, Shane Youngkin, and passenger Charlotte Youngkin, were both taken to an area hospital for their injuries.

According to the police report, Shane Youngkin reported complaints of arm pain, and Charlotte Younkin had injuries to her head and had rib pain on her left side. Three teenage boys in the back seat of Youngkin’s car were not injured in the accident.
