HAMILTON — Hamilton Community Schools has received a generous donation from Farmers State Bank.
The official announcement came during this week’s Hamilton Community Schools board meeting where board officials accepted a $30,000 donation from Farmers State Bank to be used for athletics and athletics facilities. In addition, to the 30-thousand, the bank also will donate $2,500 a year for the next five years.
Superintendent Anthony Cassel said in exchange for the donation, the bank will be highlighted as a sponsor on athletic signage. The school will use the bank’s bags to serve popcorn.
Cassel said the athletic department has tentative plans to use $20,000 of the donation for purchasing new scoreboards, with the remaining $10,000 to be put aside by the athletic department for future needs.
The additional $2,500 yearly donation will also be added to the athletic department’s general fund.
