By: Sheila McCrea - Tuesday, July 6, 2021

COLDWATER, MI - Although Monday was considered an extended holiday for most, construction closure started on South Angola Road, also known as Old U.S. 27, south of Central in Branch County’s Ovid Township.

On Monday, crews began removal of the Coldwater River bridge on South Angola Road where a new steel bridge will be erected. Traffic is being detoured along Central Road and south on Fillmore to Paradine Road. Truck traffic is urged to use I-69.

Work is set to be completed sometime in October on the $1.3 million project. The local contribution is just under $923,000 which Branch County officials say is coming through grants.
