UNION TOWNSHIP – Multiple charges have been filed against a Quincy man following an incident in Branch County's Union Township over the weekend.

Branch County District Court officials say 29 year old Richard Barber was arraigned Monday on a felony count of malicious destruction of police or fire property and a second offense of operating while intoxicated or impaired.

On Saturday, Michigan State Police were called to Adolph Road near Francisco Road where a vehicle was in the ditch. Troopers located Barber, who was unable to complete field sobriety tests. Troopers handcuffed Barber and put him in the front seat of the patrol car. Barber allegedly kicked out the front windshield of the vehicle.

Bond was set for Barber at $35,000. A probable cause hearing is set for July 15 and a preliminary examination on July 22.
