Three Injured Following Friday Hit And Run Crash

CASS COUNTY, MI - A Shipshewana woman and two passengers in her vehicle were injured following a hit-and-run crash that happened in Michigan’s Cass County early Friday morning.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating a Personal Injury crash that occurred on M 51 and Edwards Street in Pokagon Township.

Investigators say a vehicle driven by Marie Dillon, age 70 of Shipshewana, along with her two passengers, Stephen Jack, age 54 of Shipshewana, and Trena Mireles, age 49 of Hartford, were traveling north bound on M 51 when a vehicle disregarded the stop sign on Edwards Street colliding with them. This vehicle fled the scene, but was later located, unoccupied, at a residence in the 31000 block of Edwards Street.

Dillon and her passengers were transported to Borgess Lee Hospital for their injuries. They were all wearing their seatbelts when the accident happened just before 2:30 AM.

It is unknown if alcohol and drugs were a factor.
