COLDWATER – A Sturgis man has been sentenced on three felony cases.

Branch County Circuit Court officials say Caleb Wing was sentenced to 8 years for possession of meth as a two time offender. Wing was also sentenced to 16 to 24 months for resisting a Michigan State Police trooper and Branch County Sheriff's Deputy when the officers tried to serve Wing with an arrest warrant. He was also given a sentence of 19 months to 10 years on probation violation charges in St. Joseph and Branch Counties. Wing plead guilty to all three charges.

Court officials say Wing had convictions for larceny in a building, possession of methamphetamine and breaking and entering. Police authorities tracked the tether Wing was wearing to the Shaffmaster Storage Units on South Angola Road. The owners of the facility say they saw Wing drive away from two units that had been broken into.

Officers were also able to use the GPS and connect Wing to break ins that happened in Jackson County and in the Village of Litchfield.
