County Employees Have Guaranteed Sick Pay for COVID-19 Illnesses

ANGOLA — Officials in Steuben have adopted a policy that provides guaranteed paid sick pay for COVID-19 illness.
In the event of COVID-19 infections among county employees or their children, The Steuben County Board of Commissioners recently approved a plan that will allow employees to be paid if they take sick leave to quarantine for COVID. The measure also includes if an employee has to take care of a family member with COVID.
The leave will not be deducted from the employee’s accrued sick leave. County officials planning on cover the expense with COVID-19 monies the county has received from the federal America Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
