Sturgis Man Arrested In Connection With Branch County Robbery

(BRONSON TOWNSHIP) – A Sturgis man is being held in connection with a robbery that happened in Bronson Township.

In a media release, Branch County Undersheriff Keith Eichler says the incident happened around 2:30 Friday afternoon, when the suspect, a 25 year old Sturgis man, allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint and made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The victim was able to provide deputies with a description of the man and the vehicle he drove off in. The suspect was spotted and a pursuit started. He then got out of the vehicle and ran away.

The Sturgis Police and the Michigan State Police K-9 Unit assisted in the search for the suspect and were able to locate him.

He was arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on multiple felony counts along with having some outstanding warrants. The incident is still being investigated.
