Two White Pigeon men died Monday morning when the motorcycles they were driving were struck by a car.

The Cass County Sheriff’ Department said Tanner Maddock Hull, age 20, and Willian David Monroe Kunz, age 21, were driving their motorcycles on U.S. 12 near Baldwin Prairie Road in Union when they were struck from behind by a car driving by Tristan Conner Thorpe, 20, also of White Pigeon.

Emergency personnel reportedly responded to the crash scene at 4:37 a.m. and found the two motorcycles had been struck from behind.

Investigative reports reveal Hull and Kunz were preparing to make a left turn onto Baldwin Prairie Road when they were struck by the Thorpe vehicle. Both motorcyclists died at the scene.

Authorities say Kunz and Hull were not wearing helmets. The Sheriff’s report said Thorpe was wearing a seat belt and the vehicle’s airbag deployed.

The crash remains under investigation.
