COLDWATER LAKE, MI – A teenager was injured Friday afternoon in a boating accident on Coldwater Lake.

According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, a father and son were on separate watercrafts at around 3 PM when the incident took place.

Investigators say the pair did not see the other turning. As a result they each turned into the other watercraft. The 15-year-old boy was then injured as a result of the crash.

The teen was taken to shore and was treated by Life Care Ambulance. He was later transported to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for further treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by the Branch County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Division.

Also assisting at the scene was the Lakeland Fire Department.
