Woman Taken To Hospital After Saturday Crash In Branch County

BRANCH COUNTY, MI – One woman was transported following a Saturday afternoon crash.

According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, the crash took place at Jonesville and Marshall Roads.

Reports indicate the incident involved a small SUV and a Jeep Cherokee.

Upon arrival, Deputies found both vehicles in the north west corner of the intersection, and the Jeep was in a ditch.

A preliminary investigation revealed, the Jeep, driven by 18-year-old Macayla Skirke of Sherwood was westbound on Jonesville Road. After stopping at a stop sign, she entered the intersection where she did not see a SUV (that was north bound on Marshall Road) driven by 55-year-old Jamie Cline of Coldwater.

Cline was unable to stop and struck the Jeep.

Cline was transported to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

Skirke and two other juveniles who were passengers in her vehicle had minor injuries.

Occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts and airbags deployed.

Skirke was cited by for Failure to Yield Stop Sign.

The Branch County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the Coldwater Fire Department and Lifecare Ambulance.
