Colleen Everage Announces Her Candidacy For Angola Mayor

ANGOLA, IN - As Angola Mayor Richard Hickman finishes his last term as mayor, the city’s first woman to run for the office has thrown her hat in the race.

Colleen Everage announced her candidacy Tuesday. Both she and her opponent Dave Martin are running as Republicans.

Everage has a background in education and currently volunteers as the president of the Angola Rotary Club. She has been instrumental in the current growth and development of the Angola Mainstreet initiative.

She wants to improve Angola by creating a vision for continued city growth.

The City of Angola presently has women are in leadership in other areas of the city. If elected, Everage would be Angola's first female mayor.

Everage made local history just last year when she became Steuben County’s first ever graduate of the the Lugar Series 32nd class.

Everage took part in the leadership building course over the span of eight months. The course name honors Former Indiana Senator Richard Lugar.

As a candidate for the Mayor of Angola, she is running with a campaign slogan of "Everage for Angola".
