ANGOLA - One person is dead and another is in custody following a shooting near Cameron Memorial Community Hospital.

The shooting took place in the 600 block of East Gilmore St. at approximately 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 12.

Reports state one person in connection with the shooting is in custody with the Angola Police Department.

The Metropolitan School District of Steuben County was on lockdown for five minutes per the MSD Safety Protocol.

The investigation is still underway, but authorities said there is no active threat to the community.
