Man Found Dead After Barn Fire In Rural Branch County

BRANCH COUNTY – A man was found dead following an explosion and fire in a pole barn in Noble Township.

Reports state the 62-year-old mas was discovered on Thursday, November 11.

The Bronson Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 3:30 p.m. to the property off of Whipple Road on a reports of an explosion and smoke.

Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber said firefighters arrived one scene to discover a large pole barn fully engulfed in flames along with two pickup trucks parked outside.

Once the flames were extinguished firefighters discovered a man's body.

The victim’s name has not been released.

Firefighters were on scene for over five hours and the cause of the is undetermined but has been stated as accidental.

The Bronson Fire Department was assisted by the Orland Fire Department, Lifecare Ambulance, the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, and the Michigan State Police. .
