ANGOLA - The 2024 Angola elected officials were sworn in at Angola's City Hall on Wednesday, December 20.

All elected officials were sworn in by Steuben County Clerk Tangi Manahan and will take office legally on January 1, 2024.

Dave Martin was sworn in as the Angola Mayor.

Martin, a Republican, defeated Democrat Sue Essman in the November 2023 election.

Randy Coffey was sworn into the Angola Common Council for District A.

Coffey, a Republican, defeated Democrat Nick Sutton.

Jennifer Sharkey was sworn into the Angola Common Council for District C.

Republican Councilwoman Sharkey ran unopposed.

David Roe was sworn into the Angola Common Council for District D.

Roe, a Republican, defeated Democrat Lou Ann Homan.

Incumbent Common Councilman Jerry McDermid was sworn into the Angola Common Council District At-Large alongside incumbent David Olson who was sworn into Angola Common Council District B.

Both McDermid and Olson ran unopposed.

Ryan Herbert was also sworn in as Angola Clerk-Treasurer.

Herbert was initially was elected in 2021 as Angola's clerk-treasurer after Deb Twitchell resigned after 25 years.
