ANGOLA - Steuben County Commissioner Ken Shelton filed officially on Wednesday, January 10 to run for his second term as Middle District Commissioner.
Shelton was first elected as the Steuben County Middle District Commissioner in 2020.
“I have never considered myself a politician, but a public servant. I work for you," said Shelton in a press release regarding his 2024 filing.
If reelected, Shelton intends to continue his pledge of change from 2020. He also stated he plans to continue to move Steuben County forward.
Shelton is a third-generation Steuben County resident with law enforcement and legal experience along with business ownership and Steuben County governmental knowledge.
He stated these qualities make him the best candidate to continue to help lead Steuben County to new heights.
Running against Shelton for the Republican nomination for Middle District Commissioner seat is former Steuben County Council President Rick Shipe.
Shipe has served as a Steuben County Councilman since 2011.
