Angola Council Approves First Reading Of Compensation Ordinance

(ANGOLA) – A first step has been taken to adjust the compensation of some Angola City employees.

Monday night, the Angola Common Council was presented with an ordinance that would fix the compensation of appointed officers, deputies and other employees, and of police and firefighters of the City for the year 2025.

Martin says they looked at medical costs and didn’t see an increase coming, which means this should be a true raise for employees next year.

The Common Council voted unanimously on the first reading of the ordinance. It will be brought back for a second reading during the Council’s next meeting on July 15.
