(COLDWATER) – Two more individuals have been arrested in connection with the death of a Lakeland Correctional Facility inmate.
In October 2023, the Michigan State Police was asked to assist the Department of Corrections in the investigation of the death of inmate William Wilson, who was found dead after ingesting a substance that was later identified as methamphetamines.
The investigation uncovered that the drugs had been smuggled into the Coldwater facility during a visit from Dezaray Brown-Bobo. She was eventually arrested in March 2024.
As the investigation continued, additional arrest warrants were issued for 30 year old Lakeland prisoner Evellis McGee and 24 year old Aaliyah Monet Lent of Saginaw, for their roles into the smuggling of contraband into the prison that attributed to Wilson’s death.
McGee was arrested July 30 and Lent was arrested August 2 near Detroit by the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team. Both are being held in the Branch County Jail.
They have both been arraigned and are waiting to hear about future court dates.
