Three People Injured In Two Separate Accidents

(UNDATED) – Three people were injured Thursday in two separate accidents.

According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Office, the first accident happened around 2 PM on Athens Road near Mendon Road in Sherwood Township. 18 year old Jesse Ruby of Sherwood was on his motorcycle and hit a bump, causing him to lose control.

Ruby laid the bike down and was injured in the process. He was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

At 3:15 PM, deputies were called to Michigan and Newton Roads for a second accident. A car driven by 33 year old Vital Richardson of Florida went through the stop sign at the intersection and was struck by an SUV driven by 66 year old Douglas Riggs of Union City.

Both autos went off the road. The drivers were taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital to be treated for their injuries.
