Two People Arrested On Drug Charges

(PLEASANT TOWNSHIP) – Two people have been arrested following a lengthy investigation into the alleged selling of drugs in Steuben County.

Steuben County Sheriff Rodney Robinson says just after 7 AM on Wednesday, Sheriff’s Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 1900 block of South CR 445 W in rural Pleasant Township. The search warrant followed an investigation spanning many months by Sheriff’s Detectives.

Located inside the residence where 54 year old Susan Marie Nevil along with 51 year old Chad William Kiser, both of Angola. They each had active warrants for their arrest alleging their involvement with the sale of narcotics in connection with the on-going investigation.

During the search of the residence, suspected narcotics including Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, scales, and other items believed to be involved in the sale of narcotics were seized by detectives. Due to the nature of the investigation, the Sheriff's Special Response Tactical team was activated and utilized to secure the residence for the investigation with the assistance of the Auburn Police ERT team. Also located inside of the residence was a dog which was safely secured and transported from the scene by the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County.

Following the search, both Nevil and Kiser were booked into the Steuben County Jail on felony charges of dealing in methamphetamine; possession of methamphetamine; possession of cocaine or narcotic drug and maintaining a common nuisance, along with a misdemeanor county of possession of paraphernalia..

Nevil’s bond was set at $80,500 and Kiser’s bond at $43,500.
