Dalton Closing Warsaw Plant, 250 Jobs Cut

(WARSAW) - Dalton Corporation has announced plans to permanently close its Warsaw facility, a decision that will affect more than 250 employees.

A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed Dec. 29 with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development states that the plant will begin shutting down later this winter. The closure was first reported by 21ALIVE.

According to the notice, 262 employees are expected to be impacted. Of those, 257 workers are scheduled to be laid off effective Feb. 27, when the closure process begins. Five additional employees will remain on a temporary basis to assist with shutdown-related duties.

The final closure of the facility is expected to be completed by March 1. Company officials indicated in the filing that the shutdown will be permanent.

No additional details were released regarding severance, relocation options or the future use of the property.
