Week of the Young Child & The Young Child's Family Fair

April 11, 2026 • Angola, IN

Miss Roxy's Daycare is celebrating the 52nd Annual Week of the Young Child, taking place Saturday, April 11th through Friday, April 17th. During this week, early childhood programs across the country highlight young learners through themed days and special activities that celebrate children and the importance of early education.

To kick off the celebration locally, Angola Parks and Recreation is partnering with Miss Roxy's Daycare to host "The Young Child's Family Fair" on Saturday, April 11th. This event will bring families from the community together to celebrate the start of Week of the Young Child.

Week of the Young Child? is an annual event sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the world's largest early childhood education organization, representing nearly 60,000 members and a network of 51 affiliates. The purpose of this national celebration is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families while recognizing the early childhood programs and services that support them. It is also a time to recognize that children's opportunities are a shared responsibility and to recommit to ensuring that every child experiences nurturing environments--at home, in childcare, at school, and in the community--that support early learning and development.

In honor of Week of the Young Child, Miss Roxy's Daycare will celebrate alongside organizations across the country with themed days throughout the week, including:

Kick-Off Saturday

Music Monday

Tasty Tuesday

Work Together Wednesday

Artsy Thursday

Family Friday

This year marks the fourth annual Young Child Family Fair hosted by Miss Roxy's Daycare. The goal of the event is to provide families with the opportunity to learn about community resources and organizations that support the health and early learning of children in Steuben County, while also offering a free, fun-filled family day celebrating young learners.

Several organizations and businesses are partnering to help make the event possible. The Steuben County Community Foundation is helping provide a special guest, Kaytibug's Balloon Creations, who will create balloon art for families. The 3 Kings Rental will provide bounce houses for children to enjoy. Community partners will also host activity tables, and local businesses have generously donated family gift baskets to give away during the event. Food trucks will also be on-site.
