(ANGOLA) - The Angola Performing Arts Academy's Youth Theater is bringing a twist to a classic story this month with its new comedy, "Little Red Riding Hood: Unplugged." The show, written and directed by Mary Kay Clark, hits the stage at the Trine T. Furth Center for the Performing Arts. There are two performances only -- Saturday, November 22nd at 7 p.m., and Sunday, November 23rd at 4 p.m. Tickets are twelve dollars for adults and five dollars for students and youth. All seating is general admission, payable by cash or check at the door. More than forty young performers from across the area will bring the comedy to life, telling the story of Mayor Dave Martin as he's asked by the Good Fairy to host a star-studded remake of Little Red Riding Hood. That includes diva actress Greta Starr and a Big Bad Wolf who insists he isn't bad at all. The show gives audiences a backstage-style look at the "rehearsal" as all the characters attempt to remake the fairy tale. It's family-friendly and runs about an hour. Before the curtain rises, guests can also stop by the APAA Youth Gallery at 45 South Public Square to see the latest exhibit featuring Easterseals Northern Indiana artists. The gallery is free, with donations appreciated. Angola Performing Arts Academy is a nonprofit offering youth theater, choir, rock bands, music lessons, and a youth art gallery. More information is available on their Facebook page.
