(COLDWATER) - The Branch County Secretary of State office is closed temporarily as it moves to a new location during a renovation project.
The Coldwater branch will remain closed for the week and is scheduled to reopen at 9 a.m. Monday, April sixth at its temporary site at 490 Marshall Street.
The move is tied to a major remodeling project at the Vans Avenue office, including a redesigned layout, new siding, updated signage and the addition of a public restroom.
State officials expect work at the main branch to be finished by September.
During the closure, residents can still complete many transactions online through the state's Secretary of State website or use the self-service station at the Meijer on East Chicago Road.
Anyone needing in-person help before the temporary office opens can schedule appointments at nearby branches in Hillsdale or Sturgis.
