(ANGOLA) - Friends, customers, and coworkers are coming together this weekend to support a longtime Angola bartender facing a serious cancer battle.

William "Chink" Chrisman who has worked behind the bar at Skip's -- now known as The Venue -- for more than 43 years, is now undergoing extensive medical care as cancer continues to progress.

In a message shared online, his longtime partner Dawn Fulton said recent months have been filled with hospital stays, uncertainty, and around-the-clock care needs. She has stopped working in order to stay home and care for her husband full-time, creating growing financial strain for the family.

The Venue Angola is hosting a fundraiser for Chink on Saturday, May 9th.

Raffles and 50-50 drawings begin at 7 p.m., with live music from Big Caddy Daddy starting at 9 p.m. The Venue is located at 110 West Maumee Street in downtown Angola. Donations are also being accepted throughout the week during normal business hours for those unable to attend Saturday's event.
