(LAPORTE, IN) - A 22-year-old LaPorte woman is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after police say she forced two children to smoke marijuana and later tattooed them.

Authorities say Autumn Timm allegedly forced an 11-year-old boy into a "smoking circle" at a Michigan City home and would not allow him to leave until he smoked marijuana. Police say a 12-year-old cousin later became involved in the incident.

Investigators also allege Timm tattooed both boys despite requests for her to stop because of the pain.

Police say both children later tested positive for marijuana.

Timm has been charged with two felony counts of battery and two misdemeanor counts of tattooing a minor.

Court records show she was assigned a public defender during her initial court hearing.

Her trial is currently scheduled to begin in October.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
