(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana drivers will continue receiving a break at the gas pump for at least another month.

Governor Mike Braun announced Wednesday that he is extending the suspension of Indiana's gasoline usage tax and gasoline excise tax through July 7.

The two tax suspensions save motorists more than 62 cents per gallon, according to the governor's office.

Braun first suspended the gasoline usage tax in April, then expanded the relief in May by adding the gasoline excise tax. Both were scheduled to expire June 7.

The extension comes as Indiana continues to report the lowest average gas prices in the nation. AAA reported Indiana's average price for regular gasoline at $3.58 per gallon this week.

The governor's office said the tax suspensions are being carried out under Indiana's energy emergency statute, which allows the state to continue the relief measures while the current energy emergency declaration remains in effect.

The tax break is now scheduled to remain in place through July 7.
