(DEKALB COUNTY) - One person was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Monday morning west of Auburn.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at 10:44 a.m. near the 4100 block of State Road 8.

Investigators say a 2001 Toyota driven by 37-year-old Sheila Price of Spencerville was traveling westbound and attempting to turn south onto County Road 41. A 2019 Ford Transit driven by 36-year-old Kimberly Ramirez of Holland, Ohio, was also traveling westbound behind the Toyota and attempted to pass. The Ford struck the Toyota during the maneuver.

Price complained of neck pain and an injury to her right pinky finger and was transported to Parkview DeKalb Hospital.

Ramirez reported no injuries.

Damage was estimated at $7,000 to the Toyota and $5,000 to the Ford.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Central Communications, Jeff's Towing, Parkview EMS and the Auburn Fire Department.
