Join Star Noble of the Pokagon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Andy St. John on WLKI 100.3 as they highlight a special civic event celebrating America's 250th anniversary. This Wednesday, July 8, the Angola community is invited to gather at the Commons Park Roman Beer Stage for a public, synchronized reading of the Declaration of Independence. Local church bells will ring at 5:15 p.m. to call the community together, followed by the main reading at 6:00 p.m. led by Jay Minick, where everyone can follow along with their own copy to reunite around core American values.
Star also discusses the importance of teaching history to the next generation, how to research ancestry to join the DAR, and the chapter's recent project funding memorial bricks at Indianapolis's Monument Circle to honor six missing World War II POW/MIAs from Steuben County.
