PIONEER, Ind. (WLKI) - The Pioneer Police Department has formally introduced Officer Josh Arvay, who joined the department as a full-time patrolman in February.
Arvay has already been patrolling the community for several months.
He served in the Ohio Army National Guard from 2003 through 2009 as a military police officer. He reached the rank of sergeant and completed Combat Lifesaver training.
Arvay earned his OPOTA certification from Owens Community College in 2008 and an associate degree in criminal justice in 2009. He is also certified in crisis intervention.
He became an EMT in 2023 and worked full time in emergency medical services for about two years before returning to law enforcement. Arvay renewed his volunteer firefighter certification in June, making him certified in law enforcement, fire service and emergency medical services.
Pioneer Police Chief Tim said Arvay has already proven to be an asset to the department.
