LANSING (WLKI)- The candidates have been chosen to run for Governor of Michigan in November.
During Tuesday's Primary Election voters elected John James to be the Republican candidate. He received 250,704 votes (49.75%). Perry Johnson finished second with 176,974 votes (35.12%). Mike Cox, who dropped out of the race but still appeared on the ballot, collected 65,573 votes. Aric Nesbitt, who also dropped out of the race, received 10,707 votes.
James will take on Jocelyn Benson this fall. Benson, the current Secretary of State, won the Democratic nomination with 490,545 (82.85%) votes.
Christopher Robert Swanson finished second collecting 101,561 (17.15%) votes.
