ANGOLA, Ind. (WLKI) - Pokagon State Park's annual Autumn Harvest Hoedown will return Saturday, September 26.
The event is scheduled from 7:30 until 10 p.m. in the park's main beach parking lot.
The Spy Run String Band will perform traditional dance music in Midwestern and Southern styles. A caller will guide dancers through the steps, and organizers say no previous dance experience is needed.
The event has been a Pokagon tradition for more than 45 years and typically brings more than 100 dancers to the park.
Visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring blankets or chairs.
The Friends of Pokagon will offer fresh apple cider from Stroh Orchard in Angola and bags of popcorn for suggested donations while supplies last.
Regular park entrance fees apply. Admission is $7 per Indiana vehicle and $15 per out-of-state vehicle.
The event is sponsored by the Steuben County Tourism Bureau, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
