Indiana Attorney General Faces Hearings Beginning Today
Monday, October 21, 2019

Beginning today, Indiana’s attorney general is facing a hearing over whether allegations that he drunkenly groped four women at a bar amounted to professional misconduct.

Republican Curtis Hill denies the allegations from a state lawmaker, as well as three legislative staffers that he inappropriately touched their backs or buttocks during a party celebrating the end of the 2018 legislative session.

The attorney disciplinary complaint hearing begins today, and some officials feel that the hearings could all the way until the end of this week. A former Supreme Court justice will preside over the hearings, and will recommend any punishment to the Indiana Supreme Court. The state’s high court will ultimately decide whether to impose a reprimand or any other sanctions on Hill’s law license.

Hill has rebuffed calls to resign from Republican Governor Eric Holcomb and several other officials as well.
