The Angola Common Council approved a Facade Grant Application from Hanson Properties LLC for the demolition of the existing facade at the Venue located at 110 W. Maumee St. The Facade Grant agreement was for an amount not to exceed $5,000. The Venue plans to seek grant money from the State of Indiana for the rebuild of the second story deck as well as an install of lighting under the deck and new paint on wood and panels. The renovation is expected to take place sometime in mid May to early June.

The council also heard a 2018 trash and recycling report from Jim Smith of Republic Services. Smith reported picking up over 500 tons of recycling in Angola and over 2,400 tons of trash. In 2018 Republic Services picked up 50.35 tons per home. He also emphasized making sure that your recycling material is empty, dry, and clean before place placing it loosely and not bagged in your recycling bin.

The Angola Common Council will meet again on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 7 PM from the Council Chambers at City Hall.
