Precision Industries, 200 Industrial Drive • Angola, IN

By: Sheila McCrea

A firefighter was injured after a factory sustained heavy damage after a fire broke out early Monday morning in Angola.

Multiple fire crews assisted the Angola Fire Departments response to Precision Industries, located at 200 Industrial Drive, just after midnight. Upon arrival, first units on the scene reported flames coming out of the roof.

One firefighter was hurt while trying to put out the blaze. Accroding to a release from the Angola Fire Department, that firefighter was transported to Cameron Hospital and treated, then later released.

The blaze was discovered by an Angola City Police Officer who smelled smoke in the area. According to Angola fire officials, nobody was inside the building when the fire started and nobody else was injured other than the firefighter.

Crews were able to keep the fire contained to the front office portion of the building and the front part os the manufacturing area. The main manufacturing area received heat and water damage, but it's believed most of the heavy equipments can be saved.

An estimated 50,000 gallons of water were used to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Precision Technologies is a privately held company in Angola, and is a single location business owned by Glen Presley.

Other agencies assisting the Angola Fire Department was the Fremont Fire Department, Steuben Township Fire Department, Ashley Fire Department, & Orland Fire Department.
