Recommendations for Zone Changes in Steuben County

The Steuben County Plan Commission reviewed two agenda items on Wednesday evening.
The Steuben County Plan Commission approved two zone changes on Wednesday evening. The first was a zone change at the property located at the W 350 North, Section of Jackson Township owned by Miller Poultry. The tract of land was given a recommendation by the Plan Commission to the County Commissioner to be changed from Agricultural to Industrial 2 and Environmental Control to Industrial 2.
Miller Poultry's Vice President of Operations, Kevin Diehl gave the panel reasons for the change, which included expansion of their Orland facility for an employee cafeteria.
The Plan Commission also approved a recommendation of a zone change from General Business to Manufactured Home at 275 LN 103 Crooked Lake, the change was for an addition of a garage on the thirty seven hundreths acre parcel.
The Steuben County Plan Commission also discussed erosion control and rain runoff issues on area lakes.
