(FORT WAYNE) -- A Fort Wayne father and his two daughters are seeing their family videos reach a global audience after landing a Toyota commercial airing during the Winter Olympics.
21ALIVE reports that Morgan Alexander and his daughters, Malia and Maiya, first gained attention for a viral video featuring daily affirmations the family recites together. The clip racked up nearly four million likes online and caught the attention of a media company, eventually leading to a national Toyota ad.
The commercial was filmed in Utah and gave the girls a chance to meet Team USA athletes, including Olympic speed skater Erin Jackson. For Maiya, the experience was highlighted by seeing reactions from friends and teachers as the commercial aired. For Malia, the moment carried added meaning.
"It was cool that I got to see me on TV during Black History Month," she said.
The commercial is airing nationally during Olympic coverage, marking a major milestone for the Fort Wayne family whose videos began on a phone screen and ended up on televisions across the country.
