(MILAN, Italy) - Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer met with athletes representing Team USA during a visit to Milan this week while the Winter Olympics are underway.
Whitmer spoke with ice dancing pairs Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik, as well as Madison Chock and Evan Bates, discussing their ties to Michigan and lighthearted topics such as favorite state soft drinks and preferred Great Lakes.
Whitmer traveled to Italy following an international trade mission to Germany. Officials said the stop in Milan provided an opportunity to support Michigan athletes competing on the world stage.
