(INDIANAPOLIS) -- Indiana is now offering a new specialty license plate for veterans and disabled veterans of the United States Space Force.
Governor Mike Braun announced the new plate design Friday through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
The plate recognizes Hoosier veterans who served in the nation's newest military branch, which was created in 2019.
State officials say the new design will be available alongside Indiana's other military and veteran specialty plates.
The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs is encouraging eligible veterans to apply, saying the plate helps recognize the role Space Force members play in national defense.
The Bureau of Motor Vehicles says the new design also reflects Indiana's broader effort to honor service members across every branch of the armed forces.
